What is a SkinPen Microneedling?
Let’s start with microneedling. Microneedling is a cosmetic procedure that involves pricking the skin with tiny sterilised needles. It helps to smooth, firm, and tone skin and improve the appearance of scars, acne, and wrinkles. So where does the SkinPen fit in? The SkinPen (pictured on the right) was the first microneedling device to receive FDA approval. It’s what we use at Kota Cosmetics due to its superb quality and clinical reputation. We use the SkinPen to create precise micro-injuries in the skin to trigger the body's natural healing response, leading to increased collagen and elastin production.

What does my treatment include? A double cleanse, numbing cream, LIFT HG with microneedling, sheet mask 10 minutes and then 5mins under our LED machine to help speed up the healing process. Followed by more LIFT HG to help keep the skin hydrated.

Does it hurt? All our pain tolerances are different. You must remember the needles are very small. If you feel uncomfortable or anxious during your treatment, that’s ok. We can stop, take a breather and try again later if you like.
What the risk? The procedure may induce temporary redness, bleeding, bruising and slight swelling; however, these effects are typically minor. The risks associated with this treatment are exceptionally low, owing largely to its natural nature—it exclusively utilises plasma and platelets derived from your own body. To ensure optimal healing and minimise potential health risks, it is crucial to adhere to the provided after-care instructions.
